Black Mountain Digital Media has two NOAA Skywarn Spotters on staff and has been providing accurate weather information to Black Mountain since May 2, 2007. We are also a member of the CoCoRaHS (Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow) network program that is spearheaded by Colorado State University and NOAA; we are station NC-BC-31.

The weather information is taken from our location; the camera view is looking from our location to the Swannanoa Mountain Range.

Our equipment consists of a Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2 and an outdoor 520p Sony variable focus CCD camera, running to a computer that uploads the information to the Weather Underground Site.
